LayerX has published the Enterprise Browser Extension Security Report 2025, the first of its kind to merge data on browser extension security in enterprises. The report highlights that the majority of browser extensions can access sensitive corporate data due to excessive permissions. These extensions, ranging from spell checkers to GenAI tools, are integrated into the daily workflow of users, thus posing an increasing risk to organizations.
